In January 2021, we have published a new paper on frailty and vitality among older adults aged 75+, using data from the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam. The paper, published in peer-reviewed journal Gerontology, was written by the postdoc on this project, Dr. Sascha de Breij. In this paper, we used the frailty index (deficit accumulation approach) to study predictors of both ends of the frailty continuum. The readily accessible predictors in our models may help to identify older adults who are likely to be vital, or who are at risk of frailty. See for more details the online publication (OPEN ACCESS).

The Frailty & Vitality 75+ project is part of The Frailty Project, and supported by a grant from the SeW Foundation. The study is conducted in collaboration with researchers from RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, and the Amsterdam UMC (location VUmc) department of General Practice & Elderly Care Medicine.
